Interested in starting a truffle orchard-or already have trees in the ground and need direction? Virginia Truffles offers high-level grower consultations for new, prospective, and established truffle growers seeking practical guidance before or after planting.

Whether you are evaluating a property, planning your first planting, or troubleshooting an existing orchard, our goal is to help you make informed decisions and avoid common and costly mistakes.

Consultations are by appointment only and are available seasonally April through October.

Consultation Rate

  • $175 per hour

Consultation Expectations

Virginia Truffles consultations are designed to provide experienced guidance based on real-world cultivation practices and research-supported methods. Every property and growing environment is unique, and truffle cultivation involves biological systems and longtime horizons that cannot be fully predicted.

Please note the following before scheduling:

  • Consultations provide professional guidance and education, not certification or approval of a site.

  • Virginia Truffles cannot guarantee site suitability, tree survival, truffle production, or timeline to harvest.

  • Recommendations are based on the information provided by the client; incomplete or inaccurate information may affect guidance.

  • Consultation discussions do not replace laboratory testing, soil analysis, or professional engineering/agronomic services when required.

  • Payment covers time and expertise only; it does not include written reports, ongoing project management, or follow-up consulting unless separately scheduled.

  • Due to the seasonal demands of our working orchard and harvest operations, consultations are only offered April through October by appointment.
