Virginia Truffles offers Black Winter Truffles (Tuber melanaporum, also known as Perigord Truffles), which are cultivated on oak trees in our local truffiere. We provide these exquisite truffles to restaurants, chefs, and truffle enthusiasts within the Virginia market and across the United States. Each truffle is harvested by our dedicated dog and handler team and personally inspected to guarantee top quality. Additionally, we import fresh Perigord truffles throughout the harvest season to ensure a consistent supply. What can I do with frozen truffles?
Frozen truffle is best used to infuse sauces, butter, salt, and oils. With frozen truffle you can create a savory truffle Aioli to pair as a dip for your favorite fries. Experiment with home made cheeses or add the rich, earthy, truffle flavor to your signature Alfredo sauce. The possibilities are endless!
Do you offer local pick-up?
Pick-up is available at the Virginia Truffles Farm.
We offer the following pick-up days and windows of time: Tuesday and Thursday, from 2-5 pm.
All pickups must be made by appointment, occurring during these set days and times. A pick-up option is given when placing an order via our online store. A specific time for your appointment can be requested during the check-out process.

What is your shipping policy?
Due to the perishable nature of our fresh and frozen truffle products, all orders containing fresh or frozen truffles are shipped via FedEx for next-day delivery or USPS Priority Overnight.

The fee for shipping is calculated based on our current negotiated rates with FedEx and USPS for the total weight of the order. Shipping charges are calculated per ship-to address (zip code) and are based on the total weight of the order.

All overnight orders of fresh and frozen truffles are shipped wrapped in paper towels to absorb moisture, vacuum sealed, and carefully packed in insulated boxes with iced packs designed to maintain your product in good condition for transit. Please note that frozen items may begin to thaw during transit.

We currently ship to, AL, AR, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, RI, VA, and WV.
We cannot guarantee overnight shipments to some rural areas.
We also, cannot ship overnight items to P.O. Boxes. All overnight shipments require a street address.
While we waive the required signature from FedEx for delivery, FedEx may decide to not leave packages in open areas such as office buildings, apartments, or condo complexes. This is outside of our control.
Please check all addresses and zip codes carefully. Damage due to incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses will not be refunded.
What is your refund policy for fresh and frozen truffles?
We pride ourselves on quality and the high standards of the products we sell. Because of this, we take every consideration throughout our shipment process. A truffle care guide is included in every overnight package containing fresh or frozen truffles. We suggest that you follow these guidelines to ensure the longevity of your product. Virginia Truffles will not issue refunds or replacement products to any buyer who stores or handles their products incorrectly.
Due to the perishable nature of fresh and frozen truffles, we cannot accept returned merchandise. If you are unsatisfied with our product, you must contact us within 24 hours of delivery of shipment with a photo documenting the current state of the truffle. We will work with you, if possible, to reach an amicable resolution. Refunds will not be granted for unsatisfactory items that are discarded or partially consumed.
