Virginia Truffles was established in 2007 with the idea that Virginia could be the next successfully producing state for the infamous Black Perigord Truffle. Using a well guarded, well researched scientific method oak tree seedlings are inoculated with the truffle fungus and sold to growers interested in establishing orchards/truffieres for Perigord (black) truffles. Our vision is to bring the successful and lucrative truffle markets of Europe here to Virginia one farm at a time. The Black Perigord Truffle is one of the most expensive food crops cultivated on the planet. It is a unique specialty crop which opens up a whole new world of culinary and agricultural adventure.
